Chapter Break with Lee Trotta
BIO:
Trotta released his first cheese-based children's book in 2016 titled “Florida Cheese” then his second children's book “Wisconsin Cheese” in 2017, and his third book “California Cheese” in 2019, before unveiling “Minnesota Cheese” in 2025 (after a long Covid break). Trotta, who grew up in Waunakee where his father Dick served as a hall of fame high school football coach, played football under his Dad and later in college. During his 25-year career as a geophysicist and hydrologist with the United States Geological Survey, Lee spent countless hours writing scientific reports on rocks and ground water. He has shifted his focus during retirement and acts frequently with the Sheboygan Theater Company, giving life to various characters.
SYNOPSIS:
All the books star 3 Jewish mice from New York City, Being mice, they crave cheese, so all four books feature storylines where they go out to find new types of cheese to feed their cravings. Here the adventures start in Hollywood, where the mice are signed to record a song for the radio. Afterwards they get on a plane to head home via Minneapolis and the record producer hands them off to a former football player (Stu Voight) for protection from the adoring fans as their song plays on the airplane headphones. Stu takes them to a quiet cheese cafe on the St. Croix River. While waiting for their chance to get in, Stu explains the geologic significance of the faults along the river there. In ancient times it would have been lava flowing down the river and the imaginations soar to exploring the scene in a spacesuit.
