Chapter Break with Gregory Lee Renz
This Chapter Break episode features Gregory Lee Renz and his latest publication BEYOND THE FLAMES published on 9/1/24.
Gregory is an author and retired Milwaukee Hall-of-Fame Fire Captain. When he retired he thought he might like to write a novel based on the deep well of experiences his career provided. After only ten years of creative writing courses, conferences, and workshops, he published his debut novel, Beneath the Flames, which went on to win five literary awards.
Synopsis:
Embittered Fire Captain LEE GARRISON joins forces with retired Police Captain BRIGID O’BRIEN in a life-and-death struggle to save an African-American family that’s being terrorized by a savage outlaw motorcycle gang. After rescuing a nine-year-old girl from an inner-city school fire, the crusty captain resists the embrace of her family, but the girl continues to show up on his doorstep. She breaks through his tough exterior. He reluctantly accepts her affection. When he learns her teenage sister has been forced into the sex trade by the HELLS DISCIPLES outlaw motorcycle gang, he pledges to free her.
